Journey to Plant-Based (PB)

So, today was probably the furthest away I could be from being plant-based. For those of you may know, my goal is to become 80% plant-based and 20% “other”. What that looks like in my life? Will get back to you on that, but for now let me tell you about today. Today I had a plate that was essentially 90% meat (chicken and tuna). I nibbled on a good portion but did not end up eating all of it because it was too much. Almost as if a reflexive, protective part of me was saying, "honey, let’s stop here."
Not sure if that is what it means to eat intuitively, but it was a helpful experience for me nonetheless. Sometimes I eat what is given to me because it is free and right in front of me. Money does not flow freely in residency, so every penny counts.
Convenience is sometimes a killer of the best intentions to eat healthy, which leaves me with two options: either defy convenience and stick to my plan or find ways to make eating healthier convenient.
My choice- trying to make eating healthier more convenient. My goal for the next couple of weeks is to have healthy plant-based snack options available at home so I have healthy options to grab onto when I have a craving. I want to be intentional about what I purchase from the grocery store- more plant-based options that are tasty over normalized comfort food.
Just trying to break the generational curses over here.
